Lincoln Alexander Bust in Queen's Park

Who Was Lincoln Alexander?

The Honourable Lincoln M. Alexander was

Canada’s first Black Member of Parliament
Canada’s first Black federal Cabinet Minister, and
Ontario’s first Black Lieutenant Governor.
Despite the many barriers he faced due to racism and discrimination, Alexander devoted his life to service, diversity, and acceptance.

Why Do we Honour Him?

Alexander was one of the first patrons and advocates for the Licensed to Learn Program from 2002 to 2014. With his support L2L has supported over 35,000 young people across Canada.

At Licensed to Learn, we continue to honor his legacy by providing barrier-free access to academic supports, leadership training, and opportunities for community engagement across Canada.

But we now have an opportunity to commemorate his legacy by installing a bust to be on display in Queen's Park in downtown Toronto. In order to do that, we need to raise $10 000.
