Though he is sick right now, Carl still remains a dog that likes to play.  He likes that above all else.  He loves it.  We're hoping to make that love continue:

On Wednesday January 21st, the day after his first birthday, Carl began salivating and face-pressing.  Alarmed, I took him to the emergency vet, where they thought he would die in the night.  

He's a fighter.  He pushed through the night and made it to a vet hospital.  They first thought it was encephalitis and he underwent a series of tests. 

Now they think it is a liver shunt.  In a week he will undergo a CT scan and possibly a surgery.  At first I was afraid he might have to be put to sleep due to the cost.  It has already cost $2500 and may cost another $4000.  

I recently graduated college and have been unable to find a job.  Carl needs your help with his already accumulated medical fees and the ones to come!    :)
