Thank you for taking a few minutes to read my request for funding.
My big sister, Cathy is the eldest of 7 of us. She's fiercely independent, working since age 14 and yet has high deductible insurance like so many today. She went home from work Aug 10th with flu symptoms. Eventually testing negative for viruses and not having a primary doctor, she was forced to go to the ER to find out what was going on.  Aug 23rd we were told she had a brain tumor, which has since been partially removed.  
Upon her diagnosis, I took an unpaid leave from my work as an Educational Aide for special needs high school students. Now Cathy is in the recovery stage and has ongoing follow up procedures, doctor's visits, physical and occupational therapy appointments, etc.  Since all of us siblings are still of working age, no one can quit and take care of her. I would use any donated funds to extend my leave as long as possible. This would allow me to consistently get Cathy to all her follow up appointments. The desired outcome is for her to reach her maximum potential of living independently again. While Cathy may never be able to return to her work as a bookkeeper, she deserves more than a life in a nursing home, unable to care for herself.
