Elisa is a dear person who has lost her home in the wildfire that swept through Talent, OR. I saw her Facebook posts a few days ago and it broke my heart. She said, "It's just me and my cat. I've lost everything in the fire." I saw her today where I was volunteering with donations and helping others. She came to get " a coat." We looked into each others eyes and she said, "This could be Ashland too! Don't let down your guard." We cried and finally permitted ourselves to touch. This Covid-19 makes it all so wrong and confusing for the boundaries of much-needed touch. I asked if she had a gofundme? She said she didn't and I said, I'll go home and figure it out! I would like to help Elisa in any way I can and this seemed like the right way. I know she's had a lot of loss in the last several years and my heart aches that she has yet another. Anything helps folks-- from a $1 to whatever you can. I picked $2000 out of the air. I'm sure she could use so much that money can't really buy. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart.
