This is so incredibly hard for me to write.
But my name is Shannon and my younger sister is named Erica
My sister and I both run a small business together in the blue mountains, she is the brains behind the baking and accounting as well as making all our amazing locals their coffee.
But 3 years ago at the age of 24 years old she unfortunately had a stroke, which was the beginning of her being changed for the worst. When we thought she had made a full recovery with only slight impediments she had another one at 25 which left her unable to work for quite some time, with bills piling up it put a lot of strain and stress on her recovery, we tried applying for NDIS support but Centrelink believed this was a “temporary” situation and knocked her back multiple times for support.
Fast forward another year to this November and she unfortunately had her third stroke at the age of 26.
This one has been a lot worse than her other two as it happened in her sleep so the drs are not sure how long she was stroking, before they had to perform a clot retrieval from her brain.
This stroke has left her with speech problems, it’s taken away her ability to walk with out assistance and she is riddled with muscle and nerve pain making it really hard for her to do basic tasks.
She has an auto immune disease called antiphospholipid syndrome which means she can have many more strokes through out her life
She really is a trooper and can still find the light in her own darkness but with her bills adding up and her needs for physio and speech therapy adding up as well I thought I would just ask for some help ❤️
I know it’s getting to that expensive time of the year for everyone, but anything will help to just alleviate some of the financial burden she has while trying to recover for the 3rd time.
She is my best friend and I would do anything to trade places with her but I can’t, all I can do is help make her life easier.
Thank you for even taking the time to read this, if you have gotten this far.
You really are helping someone who truely deserves it.
