HELP DYLAN FIGHT CANCER
Donation protected
Dylan, age 21, was rushed to the hospital in late February 2023 with vomiting and pain in his abdomen. What he thought was a stomach virus was an intestine infection from perforation and a CT scan revealed a mass. He sought the care of colon surgeon specialist Dr. John Marks at Lankenau Hospital.
After a week of fighting the infection, more tests revealed that a cancerous mass started in the colon, and had spread to the spleen, and growing. He had surgery to completely remove his colon, his spleen, and pieces of his stomach and pancreas to stop the spread of cancer.
As a young person, the emotional and mental toll of a shocking diagnosis is a lot to handle as well as the financial burden this is placing on a young person. The costs of the surgery, the long hospital stay, and treatments have been soaring.
We are hopeful that removing the mass in such an advanced stage and future oncology treatment will cure his cancer.
Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
Edited March 10, 2023 - Update: Dylan had a complication yesterday morning and was rushed back to surgery. He spiked a fever and they discovered in surgery that he had an intestinal leak. Thankfully they were able to catch it and save his life. He is out of surgery now but unfortunately has a new set of issues. He is in ICU and hopefully is moved today to a room. He won’t be home until next week. Mentally this is going to be tough for him since he was so close to being released before this happened. Any prayers are welcome! We also upgraded the goal as we now added a new surgery and week to his care as well as a future surgery and hospital stay will be needed. Thank you to EVERYONE who has already reached out and/or donated. It means everything to us!
