My mom’s house caught on fire.

Nobody wakes up thinking they’re going to suddenly and randomly lose everything they love, but here we are. I’m creating this for my mother and brother.

A few days ago, my mom’s house caught on fire due to a rodent chewing through some wiring. What wasn’t damaged due to the fire was damaged due to the water needed to put out the fire. Luckily, she and my brother are physically unharmed, but the house is a total loss. The only things they currently have are the clothes they were wearing, their phones, and their wallets. Everything else is gone. I’m asking for money to help them get back on their feet.

I’ve been sitting here trying to find the right words to convey how much the home videos, old journals, instruments, knitted blankets, and old letters meant to us, but I can’t find the right words.
