Many in the Loudoun County community know Oliver Brodie. Whether you've seen him on the football field, he's helped you check out a pair of shoes at work, or he's helped coach your child at Love Church Sports during the summer, whatever Oliver is doing that day, he's an incredible young man.
On Sunday, December 28th, Oliver was playing a pick-up basketball game at Ida Lee Rec Center when an adult male became upset at the game, came up behind Oliver, punched him, knocked him unconscious, and broke his jaw. Oliver was rushed to INOVA Loudoun Hospital and later sent to INOVA Fairfax Pediatrics for surgery on his jaw, where they placed a metal plate to fix it. Oliver did great in surgery and woke up surrounded by family and friends.
The last 2 years have been nothing shy of difficult for Oliver. Within 6 months of one another, his sister and his best friend passed away. Fast forward, Oliver was diagnosed with diverticulitis, followed by someone running a red light, resulting in hitting Oliver and totaling his car. The journey for Oliver's mental and physical health is a long road ahead.
To those who know Oliver, know he has been raised by his hardworking single mother, Kami. With a lot of medical and attorney bills ahead, we are hoping to raise some money for Oliver and Kami to help with medical costs and attorney fees.
We appreciate any and all donations during this time. May God bless you all!
