Help me fight Cervical Cancer!
This is something that I have been contemplating for quite a while now whether to do or not. This is very hard for me to have to reach out and ask for help. For those who do not know, about a month ago I was given news not most 22 year olds are mentally prepared for, news anyone wouldnt be prepared for.I was diagnosed with late stage 1 cervical cancer (Ib2).
A little back story for those who do not know. I had been experiencing some bleeding starting at the end of Nov 2019. I at the time thought it was due to my Nexplanon (Nexplanon is a type of birth control) it has a time span of 3 years and it was coming up on the replacement date, so I just assumed it had ran its course and my body was trying to reregulate itself. Well I went through the rest of Nov, Dec and middle of Jan and I was still bleeding. After multiple, on-going issues, spanning over more than 3 months of time, it came due to have it removed. Hoping that would bring some relief show some results to my physical health, it did not.
I decided to look for a new Dr. I had been wanting to find a female Dr for a while (my previous Dr was nothing but amazing, it was just personal preference for me. I felt more comfortable with a female.) I found my new Dr. scheduled an apt, met with her and told her everything that had been going on. She preformed a Pap test, this is where the she told me my cervix looked to be extremely inflamed! About a week later results came back showing mild cell changes(CIN2), so another Pap test was performed. Another week passes and I am called back into my OBs office, where my doctor began to explain that I had CIN3 (server cell chage) which is an abnormality in the cells that line my cervix, and that more had shown up. I was then informed that a biopsies would need to be taken, right then and there. About a week and a half later around 2nd week of Feb 2020, Results came back……cancerous……
I had to undergo ANOTHER biopsy. This specific procedure is called a LEEP procedure it was two weeks later when I was diagnosed with IB2 Cervical Cancer.
My cancer is late stage 1, but there is a large tumor in my cervix.
My amazing Dr. who I unfortunately couldnt stay with referred me to my current oncologist at Norton Health!
My doctor said he does believe that it is confined to one area, and doesn’t believe it has spread. (which was AMAZING to hear)
With ALL that information I was then prescribed chemo and radiation. CHEMO AND RADIATION, something a 22 year old should not have to hear.
I started my first chemo treatment Monday March 9th! I have completed 2/6 infusions. That same day I started my radiation, I am currently on 6/30!
I don’t think ANYONE is ever ready to hear this type of news, and I dont think ANYONE ever thinks that it will be them. We all sit and think oh that will never be me that happens to other people.. then when you turn into those "other people" its honestly hard to believe, it still feels surreal....
This can put a financial strain on even the most financially prepared, and lets face it, its hard to be completely established with a large savings at 22 years old....... if anyone can help, I along with my family and friends would be so incredibly grateful!
Quite a few people tell me Zoe "I wish I could take this cancer away from you, or undergo your chemo treatments for you" you cant and I would want to ever put this on anyone, but you CERTAINLY can help lift a LARGER burden off not just mine, but my husband Leo shoulders!
We have set our goal pretty high and even if we only make $5 that's $5 we didnt have before and we will be forever grateful. Give what you can the smallest amount counts!
PLEASE, If you have ways of supporting me in this journey please reach out...even if its just some advice, or a story of your own id love to hear it! Thank you in advance for you prayers and support! ❤
