Support for Cynthia's Cancer Journey

My mother, Cynthia, is in the hospital long term for a bone marrow transplant for pre-leukemia, blood cancer. She will be in isolation for a minimum of 100 days, including approximately 4 weeks of hospitalization.

Due to our family situation, I'm one of the only people who is visiting her. We do not have much family near by, my parents are divorced, and I am an only child.

I'm reaching out for support for myself, my immediate family, and my mother Cynthia.

It is extremely difficult trying to care for my household and provide meals, while also trying to spend time at the hospital and help my mother.

I am a caretaker for my 3 year old son, and my disabled spouse, as well as being the sole provider for the family, and running a small business, by myself.

My son is not allowed to visit in the bone marrow transplant ward. So, every time I need to visit my mother, either my husband has to take on all the responsibilities, or we have to pay for a babysitter. It also means, less time to spend with my young son.

It has been a very difficult year, and we would appreciate any support to help us get through this exhausting and emotional process.

We recently endured a long term hospital stay for my husband, after he suffered a stroke, and was on life support. The stroke left my husband disabled and with many medical appointments and need for my care at home

With all of this, and trying to raise my three-year-old son, and run a new business, it's hard to find any time to visit my mother at the hospital. I'm going to need meal support, and hopefully sponsorship to be able to take time off of work, as well as help caring for my son and husband, and our home.

Donations will also be used to help my mother cover her financial needs, and hopefully help her get a place of her own to get well in! She was living with me, prior to the hospitalization. Living with a toddler in a small, 2 bedroom duplex is not ideal for healing from cancer and a bone marrow transplant. Money will also go to help with transportation costs for care takers, trips to and from the hospital, meals, etc.
