Hello! My name is Kyrie West, and I’m a transgender woman seeking aid to cover the next step in my transition: Facial Feminization Surgery. I’ve been on HRT for a little over four years now, and the difference that transitioning has made in my mental health has been massive. I'm happier, less dissociative, and significantly less dysphoric than I was before HRT. I was hoping that HRT alone would be enough to resolve my gender dysphoria, but when I look in the mirror I can’t help but notice the effects that my first puberty had on my facial bone structure. Unfortunately, estrogen alone is unable to affect this in the way that I need, so I’m getting gender-affirming facial surgery to address my dysphoria, feel more aligned with my body, and live a happier life.

 

I’m lucky enough to have my insurance helping to cover my surgical costs, but I live paycheck to paycheck, and I can’t save enough money on my own to cover the full costs of my gender-affirming medical care. Donations will go towards medical costs, travel (I'm flying to MN from WA for surgery), food, housing, and lost wages for the month that I am recovering.
