Kyrie Eleison

Kyrie was born at home with Midwives.  The last of her litter and while she needed a wee bit of resuscitation she was a happy puppy from the start.  She was and remains a spitting image of her Mother.  Her name was Hope in those early days.  It was through one of the Midwives that a few days after her birth that I knew she would be my Furever!

When Kyrie first came into my life, I couldn’t believe how profoundly lucky I felt to have a truly soulful unconditionally loving companion. She’s a Pisces like me. She’s sensitive and loud like me. Our hair mimics one another on our wildest days.  We even sing in harmony sometimes!  I gave her the name Kyrie Eleison to elicit the grandest and gentlest part of her spirit. We’ve done well! .

Yesterday it became clear that something wasn’t right.   Her spirit was diminished.  Her eyes sad and for the first time she refused food.  We went quickly to the vet and found that her stomach was filled with fluid and twice the size it should be.  After ultrasound, NG tubes, suction and more ultrasound, it seems there is a blockage in her intestines.

As I write this she is in surgery and we are hopeful for her full recovery.   Along with this journey has come a very large vet bill of $10,000 that is due immediately.  And so we humbly add ourselves to the need for community support in this most audacious year of 2020.

Kyrie is always here to greet friends and clients at Brigid's Well; our little perinatal wellness center where we care for birthing families and others in our community.   So many love her and have found her presence healing.

She loves the beach and balls more than anything except maybe her Godparent and My Bestie Sage!

Every little bit helps and if 250 folks gave $40 we would reach our goal today!

We appreciate all the prayers in every way!   It really is true that once the love of a dog has touched your soul there is no longer any separation between our mammalian hearts!

Thank you!
Shiela & Kyrie
