Noah's Van

Hi,
My name is Melissa, and I am Noah's mom. I am a working, single parent and primary caregiver to my sweet son, Noah. Noah is medically complex and chronically ill due to an extremely rare genetic condition called Genitopatellar Syndrome. Life-saving interventions are provided to Noah daily. Noah is disabled and completely dependent on me (or his caregiver) for all of his needs, which includes transfers and positioning. As he grows, caregiving becomes more and more difficult. While Noah’s chronic illness has been one of the hardest experiences, Noah is a blessing. He is disabled, yet the strongest person I know. He is sick every day, yet his smile radiates happiness to everyone who gets to experience him. Noah is sweet, patient, and so well natured. He truly deserves the very best. As Noah's mother, my number one goal is to provide Noah with a life that is full of love, fun, adventure, and happiness. Accessibility and independence are key.
When Noah was a littIe baby, I would put Noah, and all of his medical equipment into his Graco stroller. Then, one-by-one, I'd put him and his equipment into the car. Same with getting out of the car. It seriously took 10 minutes just to get into the car, and 10 minutes to get out. Noah has outgrown his baby stroller - the stroller I could fit into the back of our truck.
Thankfully, Noah now has a Convaid medical stroller. His medical stroller caters to his medical needs (IV pole for feeding bag and feeding pump, oxygen tank holder, suction tray, etc.) But, it’s so heavy and huge, that it does not fit into our 2003 Ford Explorer. This has seriously impacted our ability to travel to medical appointments, run errands, or live life outside of our home (except for walks that we take in our neighborhood.) We are seeking your support with purchasing an accessible van for Noah and I!
We have a waiver that will pay (in full) for the conversion to make the van handicap accessible. The van’s total price is ~$84,000! I hope to raise a minimum of $2,000 to cover the down payment to secure the van. Overall, our main goal is to pay for the van in full. This is a huge ask, but that doesn't make it impossible. Please feel free to share this Go Fund Me with your community and individuals with a giving heart.
Anything helps. We are looking to secure the van by end of August. Every dollar and cent raised will go directly towards the price of Noah’s Van.
Thank you so much for your support, generosity, and kindness.
With immense gratitude,
Melissa
