Haiti Calls

Donation protected
Part 1: The picture that I chose to  post for the beginning of this campaign is of my mother & I. The reason I chose this picture is because we were all once a child safe & secure by our mother's side. For me it's a faded memory at best. You see, I lost my mother when I was 6 years old. I was the only child between my mom & dad. My dad took custody
of me. You would think the safety I once felt would be restored, but unfortunately, with the problems of a very abusive father, I was orphaned at 12. You may wonder why I choose to share part of my life's testimony during this campaign? If you know me personally, you've seen the heaviness of displacement, but also, the complete miracle that my life resonates. It has been a life of faith long before I could even process what faith actually was. It became an action continuously practiced before I could understand what it meant. That same faith propels, overflows, & pours out on a daily basis. Whether you agree with me or not, because I am human & have made plenty of mistakes, but I've also been an encourager of embodying faith. That there is more around the bend if we choose to have courage to walk towards what calls.
Haiti calls again for my journey. It's not about the glory to change, but about the humility to serve. My own story, although tragic, is turned to good, in that it gives me such a connection to those who are disconnected from the action of faith. When the onion is peeled back, we can all relate. We all have a story of disconnection. Let's move towards a story of connection & the powerful things that can result from it. It's not one donation for the displaced & orphaned children & people of Haiti that makes or breaks, it's the collective that moves mountains. If this story lights a fire for you to give, trust that it's a call for you to be involved. Thank you in advance for being part of faith in action.
