Hello, my name is Kymberli, and to be completely honest, I’m embarrassed to even be creating a GoFundMe. I’ve always been a hard worker with a “figure it out myself” mentality, and I’ve never asked for financial help. Unfortunately, this is a situation where I truly need it.

Around mid November of this year, I noticed while washing my face that I felt a teeny tiny little bump above my left eyebrow. I figured it was a super deep pimple that just needed to make its way to the surface, pop it, and be on my way. That didn’t happen. Instead it just kept getting bigger and never coming to the surface. In a matter of 3-4 weeks, it went from a tiny possible pimple to the size of a marble.

I went to a dermatologist and after a $200 appointment and 7.5 mins with the doctor. They told me it might be a cyst or a lipoma but they don’t know and wouldn’t be able to remove it. They referred me to another specialist. I made an appointment with him. Another $150 visit for him to tell me, he has no idea what it is. It’s growing too fast and feels too hard to be a cyst or lipoma. He must have said, “This is so weird” 15 times during this visit. He said he needs to figure out what it is before he can safely remove it but because it’s so deep and in a sensitive part of my face, I will likely need surgery. He ordered an MRI to see if he can figure out what exactly it is.

After a $550 MRI, they determined it to be a fibroma with blood supply towards it. The doctor stated that fibromas are typically a result from trauma and since I’ve had no trauma, that still doesn’t clarify what it is. Though he did determine that he will remove it but I will have to be put under (for the first time ever). And he highly suggests sending it out to determine exactly what it is and see the risks of it potentially coming back.

When his assistant called with the estimated cost, I was so overwhelmed I started to cry. The surgery alone will be at least $4,500, not including additional fees or pathology testing to rule out serious concerns such as cancer.

This brings me here, asking for help. The bump continues to slowly grow and has become very noticeable and slightly painful—easy to see in photos and something the kids in my life are now ask questions about. I’m hoping to have it removed as soon as possible, before it grows larger, becomes more painful and/or more complicated.

This is frightening, overwhelming, and far outside my comfort zone. Any amount truly helps, especially during the holidays. I’m incredibly grateful for your support, whether that’s a donation, a share, or simply reading my story.
