Hi everyone,
My name is Ky and I am in need of your help to get to my show in Canada.
Approximately a year ago, I relocated from North Carolina back to Indiana to help care for my aging grandmother after other arrangements fell through. It was an unexpected, but necessary, move. Though I'm thankful for what I've been able to do for my grandma thus far, and the time I’ve been spending with her, I’m just in need of a little break. The transition as a whole has taken a toll on me because I put my life on hold, investing all of my time and energy into giving my grandmother what she wants and needs.
There's help from family here and there, but the majority of the time, I've been taking care of her on my own. Over the last year, the stress of being her primary caretaker has resulted in me being admitted to the hospital twice, adding to the financial strain I’ve been under.
After some prayer, I decided to get back into therapy. The continued recommendation is for me to emphasize creating more balance in my life to alleviate some of the stress. Now, I’ve been presented with an opportunity to walk in a show taking place in Canada and I would absolutely love to participate in that experience!
My birthday is on July 10th and I believe getting back into my passion would be the perfect gift. This is me self advocating for my physical and mental health by doing something that brings me joy. I am reminding myself daily that me and my dreams are also important enough and deserving of the time and love I give other people and things.
Though things haven't been going as planned so far, I'm proud of my efforts and don’t want to give up, so I’m asking for help! I am trusting that it’ll happen despite the obstacles.
I’m extremely grateful that God never lets me go and always guides and walks with me through my challenges.
This is my biggest opportunity thus far, so I will exhaust all of my resources and efforts trying to make it happen. I intend to drive July 17th, as it's only 6 hours away. The amount raised will go towards travel expenses like gas, food, lodging, and getting my car road ready.
This isn't just me asking for a simple hand out, but instead asking for a boost up as I advocate for myself and my dreams. Anything you can find in your heart to give/contribute will be a blessing. Thank you so much for supporting my dreams!
