Hello Everyone,

I am starting this GoFundMe to help ensure that I can continue my life in Oakland. Earlier this year, I was let go from a management position I had held for two years after new ownership took over. Finding a new job has been a difficult journey given the current state of the economy, especially within the wine industry.

I have been able to get by with the help of unemployment, food assistance, and food banks. Unfortunately, my unemployment benefits ran out about two months ago. Since then, I’ve been relying on my savings to buy time and find a path forward so I can continue living the life I’ve built in California over the past 15 years. After paying December’s rent, I made a contingency plan to move back to the East Coast to live with family when it became clear I would be unable to cover rent in the new year.

However, I received fantastic news yesterday. I have officially accepted a leadership position at an up-and-coming wine bar and community space. Because of this opportunity, stability is within reach. I am hoping to raise $2,000, which will cover my January rent, help pay overdue utilities, and provide a small cushion as I transition into this new role.
