2 weeks ago my mum got the call that she had a spot at Manning Base hospital for her gallbladder surgery she was waiting for 2yrs. She went into hospital that day with the expectation of it being day surgery.. Post operative complications led her to be transferred to John Hunter right as the rains started at home. Mum had to sit in the hospital and watch on the television and social media, as my pop was rescued by the SES by boat, as the waters got higher and higher inside her home, as she lost everything… 25yrs she’s rented that property. Mums always been the keeper. Everything us kids have ever wanted to be safe was left with mum. She didn’t even have the chance to TRY and save anything. Yesterday she received an email from the real estate whilst still stuck in John Hunter. Her house is now uninhabitable, she can’t even have someone go there and try to retrieve anything not already destroyed. She has been evicted effective immediately.

So now she sits, in John Hunter. Waiting for a transfer back to Taree, with no where to go and nothing but the clothes she walked into hospital with a fortnight ago. She’s never been one to ask for help. But she really needs it now. She’s the backbone in our family and this time she needs us.. Anything you can give will help, even if you can only share this post it would mean so much!! Please help if you can..
