In June, 20 weeks into pregnancy, the Copeland’s world was shaken when they found out their baby would be born with a rare and complicated heart condition. Following multiple visits, the Copeland’s continued to watch their little girl grow along with a delicate heart condition.

September 1st the Copeland’s were admitted to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital and Cook Childrens in Fort Worth 

for immediate 24hr evaluation by some of the most advanced medical providers in the world. It was determined Amanda will need to give birth to their daughter at Harris/Cooks so she can receive life-saving medical care, including open-heart surgery, when she is born.

Their daughter is expected to remain in the CICU & NICU after surgery for an unexpected time, during which Rick and Amanda will be by her side.

In addition to the emotional stress surrounding their daughters health, Rick and Amanda also have a younger son.  While family support has been great and dad continues to travel between home and hospital to support their younger boy, financial stress and medical costs associated with the need to temporarily relocate to Ft Worth continues to grow.
