My name is Annika and I am fundraising for my best friend, Kylie Dy.

A few years ago, we were devastated to learn that she was diagnosed with Lupus. When she found out about her incurable disease, still, she managed to turn her bad days into good days, tears into laughter, frowns into smiles and the negatives into positives. Not once have I ever seen her shed a tear, nor have I heard her complain. She would always say, “I realized that stress makes my lab worse. When I’m positive, my lab results turn out to be better.” She had so much fight in her.

She was a talented boss lady. She worked 3 jobs. She had her own sewing machine and would sew clothes and bags to sell. She made hand-made bracelets and started her own skin care line. She applied to modeling companies and commercial agencies and she was a full-time english teacher! She did all of these things while fighting lupus, as well as supporting her siblings as she was the eldest, go to monthly doctor visits by herself, and traveling to different locations before the sunrise to get free medication. Despite all of the challenges thrown her way, she lived her life to the fullest and with the biggest smile on her face.

Sadly, at 27, she is gone but will be forever in our hearts. I am asking everyone who is able to help, to help me and her family lay her to rest peacefully. Any amount is truly appreciated!
