Kylie needs your help.  Many of you might know that Kylie McMaster is a very special little girl.  Her smile, contagious laugh, and exhilarating energy fill every room she goes into with light and joy.  When you talk to anybody in the community about Kylie, her older brother(Connor), her dad (Claire), and her mom (Holly), people cannot help but smile, as they are the very definition of love and hard work.  Although Kylie and her family have endured many hardships and have made it through every obstacle in their way, their struggles have in a lot of ways just begun.  Kylie has always been a bit of a medical mystery as she has never been able to be properly diagnosed, until recently.  This past year, Kylie was diagnosed with BPAN (Beta-propeller protein associated Neuro Degenerative disease) as well as NBIA (Neuro Degenerative Brain Iron Accumulation). This diagnosis means that life for Kylie and her family will keep getting more and more complicated as she grows older.  As she grows, her basic care will become more of a struggle, as she will require more room for bathing, and her night and morning routines.  As it stands now, her parents and caregivers struggle during these tasks because of a lack of space in their current bathroom. 

 To add to the complication, Kylie’s mother and primary caregiver has recently been diagnosed with MS, which significantly decreases her mobility, making it impossible for her to bath Kylie.  

 

         Please help Kylie and her family to make their home more suited to their needs.  Kylie needs a new bathroom large enough to accommodate her growing care needs along with all of her equipment.  She also needs a secondary exit out of her house for safety reasons which requires the addition of a deck and lift. She is unable to use her Physiotherapy equipment because of the house's sunken living room, and so they need to move up low windows in order to make the main floor all one level.  Kylie is also in need of a stroller to allow her to enjoy time outside (one of her favourite past times) without having to worry about being bitten by mosquitoes of which she is allergic to.   Her mom also needs a bathroom that is safe and easily accessible for her self as well.    Though the McMaster family takes life day by day, and does not take pleasure in asking for help, that is exactly what they need now- help.
