Hi Everyone

My name is Kylie Catania and I've created this page to help raise money for my medical expenses and for my partner Jason and our sons - Ollie, who is 11 and Isaac and Alexander who are 8.

In early 2021 I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. While it was aggressive, it was also very responsive to treatment and by mid year I had achieved pathological complete response (it was all gone!)

I continued herceptin until mid 2022 and then we planned our first family holiday since cancer - we travelled to Tassie in the second half of January this year. In retrospect I actually don't remember too much about the holiday, but Jase said I had terrible headaches. I do remember daily visual auras, when previously I'd only had a couple in my life. Mum took me to ED when we got back and I was diagnosed with multiple brain tumours (stage 4 breast cancer).

I had the frontal tumour which was causing severe oedema and a large midline shift removed immediately (only after doing a last parkrun of course!)

Around 2 weeks later a repeat MRI showed further tumours and now leptomeningeal mets and my radiation plans were converted to whole brain. I have also started TDM1 targeted treatment.

As a doctor I try to be realistic about my prognosis and know I will unlikely reach the end of the year. I know Jason and my Mum automatically say no to most offers for help, so I'm jumping the gun for them now. Of course, pls only donate if you have the capacity and want to. No judgement here! I do know lots of people have reached out and we appreciate everyone's offers. But if you want to stay for the updates and to keep in touch, please do that too. We want to thank everyone who has helped us so far.
