Thank you for taking a few moments to read our friend Kyle's story. Kyle is part of our music family and we invite you to join us in supporting Kyle and Mindee through this difficult fight with cancer. Our goal is to raise enough funds to assist them with this serious expense and to give Mindee the ability to take time off of work from her 3 jobs to spend as much time as possible with Kyle during this fight.
Please keep May 24th open to attend "The Kyle with a K Roadhouse Reunion" at Freakster's Roadhouse in Pontiac, IL. The event will start at 1pm and will feature nationally touring bands Otherwise and Wayland, and a special one night only reunion with The James Younger Gang. It takes a lot of courage and faith to devote your life to the music industry. Most of the time, it means lack of sleep, eating off the $1 menu, barely getting by with bills, and having no health insurance. Kyle With A K has done exactly that for the last 4 years. He has been a part of the Roadhouse Family since the beginning of our existance in Wilmington, IL. He has been on the road with The James Younger Gang, Another Lost Year, and most currently, Wayland. In between being on the road, Kyle still was a part of the music industry while working at Freakster's Roadhouse . Not only has Kyle been there for our Roadhouse Family, but his awesome girlfriend, Mindee has been with us from day one. They are both amazing people and hard workers and it breaks our hearts to hear the news about Kyle. Mindee got a phone call from Kyle while he was on the road with Wayland in Atlanta, GA. He was feeling really sick and Mindee drove from Illinois to go pick him up. When they got back, he was very weak and thought it might be food poisoning. Mindee brought him to the ER and it was then they found out he has stage 4 liver and colon cancer. At age 28, no one should have to go through that. Now, Mindee and Kyle are faced with the struggle of paying for Chemo treatments. Mindee is juggling 3 jobs to pay for treatment, without health insurance, this is very expensive. She is also struggling to find time to be with Kyle and take care of him. They have been there for our music family, so now it is time for our Roadhouse Family to step up and be there for them.

It was devastating to hear the news that Kyle was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He'd been on the road with us for the last six months, fighting his symptoms while loading gear, driving the bus, and selling merchandise when his health reached a point where he has no choice but to get off the road and see a doctor. We've been in close touch since he got the news, and as friends we want to do anything we can to support him and his girlfriend, Mindee, through this intense journey. We hope that the Wayland Warriors will be a big part in lending our brother Kyle relief by participating in this campaign. It's time for all of us to help.
