Kyle's Ship Hospital Bill

Donation protected
Hey everyone!

As many of you know, a group of our friends get together for a cruise in November for some fun in the sun. Sadly, for one of our pals, things didn't end so well this year.

Kyle Butler had an unexpected medical emergency on board and as a result was confined to the ship medical center for last part of the cruise then transferred to a hospital in Miami when the ship docked earlier this morning.

Apparently medical services on the ship aren't cheap either.  The bill was fairly hefty at $5,500.  Although we raised a small bit of money on the ship via word of mouth to help, there is the balance of the ship bill plus some other unexpected expenses like a hotel for his partner Joe, transportation changes for flights home, and other miscellaneous stuff that comes along with an unexpected event like this when not near home.

The wonderful part about our community is how we come together to help each other in times of need, so let's take the worry of the financial stuff off of Kyle's shoulders and raise some funds to take care of all that. If you could toss in just a couple of dollars that would be very helpful and we can take care of this in no time.

Sincerely,
His onboard family... :)

UPDATE 11/20/2016 @ 1:00 PM EST from Kyle on Facebook:

"I just wanted to get an update out there for my friends and family. Towards the end of the cruise I had an episode of dizziness and sweating, followed by intense abdominal pain. I went to the ship medical facility where they held me for two days until we arrived at the Miami port. I was transported to a Miami hospital where they have diagnosed me with pancreatitis and what could be type 2 diabetes. The treatment is pretty straight forward, but it is taking some time, it looks like Joe and I will be here until tomorrow, maybe even until Tuesday. I am truly humbled and feeling loved by the reaction of the group of guys that we cruise with. There have been countless well-wishes, assistance with logistics, and even a go fund me campaign to assist with the significant cost of emergency medicine at sea and far from home. Joe and I are continually moved to tears from this outpouring of support. I also have to mention my partner Joseph who has been by my side the whole time. More updates to follow!"
