This year the Fourth of July did not go as expected. Around midnight Kyle was riding home on his motorcycle when he crashed into telephone pole guide wires. A few hours later, as someone was driving home from work, they happened to see his bike lights and called in a stranded vehicle. We are so grateful to whoever called that in or else this would be a very different situation. Kyle is currently in the ICU at the University of Chicago where he has a very long road to recovery ahead of him. He has undergone a very long surgery where they rebuilt his left clavicle and right leg. He, unfortunately, severed his brachial plexus in the left arm, so at this time are unsure if he will ever regain function of that arm. On his right hand, he is missing his middle finger and some of his ring finger. He has also damaged his left knee and has a minor skull fracture requiring a neck brace. Kyle has a very long, hard road ahead of him but are so grateful that he is still here with us. My parents have been through hell and back dealing with the emotional trauma of this situation so I have created this GoFund Me to alleviate at least some of their burdens.
