Please help us support the Leavens family in honor of Ryker! Samantha has been a friend of mine for 17 yrs. and was one of the first people to jump to our aid after losing Ryker. Now, they need our help. Her little boy, Kyler, will undergo a very invasive/long open heart surgery on 2/28/2020, followed by an extended hospital stay. Kyler and our daughter, Tinsley, are only a couple months apart. We couldn’t imagine being in their position and having to hand our baby over for open heart surgery. Our hearts are broken for them and we know all too well of the costs associated with unexpected medical bills. Please help baby Kyler and his family during this time.
Info from family about Kyler: We wanted to publicly share now that we have a little more information. Kyler went in for his 9 month well check on February 3. Dr Koch was listening to his heart as he always does and he heard something that needed A little extra attention. This past Wednesday we met with Dr Martin for an EKG and and Echo on Kyler- she determined he has a bicuspid valve and a Coarticulation of the Aorta. Last Friday we went to Children’s for his CT scan to determine the best scenario for surgery. He was a trooper and did great. This morning the cardic care and surgical board met to review Kylers case- they have determined it will be best to enter thru his chest into full open heart surgery. The arch will need repaired as the narrowing expands a little further in each direction than the doctors initially hoped. He will be on full bypass of both lung and heart during surgery. At this time the bicuspid valve is not showing leaking so they are not going to repair it. Kyler is a fighter and the strongest guy we know. Please keep him and our family in your prayers as we are still all in shock but staying strong together. We have the best team of doctors working to help us fight this. We’ve got this
Thank you for supporting such an amazing and selfless family!!
