Hello, my name is Kyle D. Jordan and I'm a Los Angeles based artist. As a recent graduate from Otis College of Art & Design I've been able to pursue art from a few angles. In 2015 I started showing more in galleries and creating a name for myself, which led to plans of showing and sharing my work even more in 2016. While in college my long-time friend and I started a multimedia company called TribeUNLTD where we provide web design, graphic design, audio engineering & video production services. Our motive being to leverage our resources and talents to fund our respective dreams and ensure bills get paid. In the recent months both my professional art practice & multimedia company have shown promise, but then I was hit with a major setback. I was recently diagnosed with a rare degenerative eye disease called Keratoconus.

Keratoconus (also known as Pellucid) is a progressive non-inflammatory disorder that causes a characteristic thinning and cone-like steepening of the cornea. This steepening results in distortion of vision, increased sensitivity to glare and light and an associated reduction in visual acuity, and eventually leads to blindness. I have seen a couple of doctors and the recommendation to correct my vision was: Holcomb C3-R Crosslinking (aka CXL Crosslinking) and INTACS to both eyes, with CK treatments to the right eye, all of which totals over $20,000.00. Though these procedures are effective and have been practiced in Europe & Asia for a decade, the US FDA hasn't approved them because there isn't a large demand for this treatment. Unfortunately, that means my medical insurance won't cover the costs.

I've never favored asking people for money, but sometimes you have to put your pride in your pocket to get things done. I've exhausted all resources and am already buried in student loan debt. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated to help with getting this surgery done as soon as possible. I have set up a paypal account for easy and safe deposits. Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Kyle
