This summer, I will have the opportunity to intern in Washington, D.C., through TFAS - D.C. Internships. I was accepted into the Institute on Political Journalism and will be placed in an internship in our nation's capital that will give me practical communications experience. This internship will run June - July 2017. In addition to interning, I will also be taking an economics class through George Mason University.
Some would consider my career goals to be ambitious, but my desire is to one day become a contributor for a national news network engaging in some type of political analysis. Currently, I am serving as an intern for the Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin where I am learning many things about policy and government. I believe the next step for me is to spend my last summer before graduation getting exposure in a setting that is more specific to communications. Interning in D.C. would provide invaluable networking opportunities that could be instrumental in jumpstarting my career after college.
The remaining costs for the program amount to approximately $5,000. This cost includes housing, class credits through George Mason University, and transportation to Washington, D.C. In addition to the costs of the program, I will also have the opportunity cost of not being able to work my regular job for a large portion of the summer. I need to make the payment for the program by the beginning of April.
I am so thankful to the people that have helped me grow and get to this point. I would appreciate prayers for this summer and my future, and I would be ever grateful for any way that you would be able and willing to contribute monetarily. I am so excited for this opportunity! Thank you in advance for all of your love and support!
