Kylee Keeton had a great fall (&broke her wrist)

Hi everyone!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated so far! It has been such a huge help. As Kylee goes into week 8 of recovery, there have been some good news and some not so good news to update on.

The good news is, post surgery she has been going to physical therapy 3x a week and at home exercises, she has increased her mobility and can now list 3 pounds with her left wrist!! WOO go Kylee!!!

The other good news is she’s able to take a few clients a week!

The not so great news is that although her progress has been tremendous post surgery, she is still bruising significantly post PT exercises and doing several hair cuts a day (or really anything with significant wrist movement).

PT says she can reevaluate at week 12 (so in 4 weeks) taking on more in depth hair cuts, coloring, and hair washing/styling.

So even though she can move around and get out of the house and drive again, with the minimal clients she can take, she will barely make enough to cover the total costs of her monthly salon bills including rent and utilities, not including her personal bills.

To help alleviate some of Kylee’s financial stressors (and to reduce her taking on more clients than she can actually physically handle), we’ve increased the goal.

As always, the money donated here will first and foremost go to the salon bills and any remaining will go to groceries, outstanding medical bills, and personal bills.

WOW!!!! Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. We reached 2 goals for Kylee already.

Some updates on her as of the last few days:

She had a successful surgery and is starting physical therapy today! She has to go two to three times a week for 4-6 weeks and then be reevaluated to be cleared to go back to work since she's working on regaining mobility in her left hand.

While it's still up in the air and she is accumulating medical bills, we're increasing the goal to help cover the biggest financial concern which is to keep the salon lease valid with rent and utilities. The remaining will go to groceries, outstanding medical bills, and personal bills.

My name is Sarah and I’ve created this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Kylee.

About the injury:

As some may have already heard, Kylee had a Humpty Dumpty moment and had a great fall. She suffered a serious injury to her left wrist, breaking both her radius and ulna. She now requires reconstructive surgery to help her regain full use of her hand. As you might imagine, this has created a difficult time for her physically, emotionally, and financially.

About Kylee:

Kylee radiates a positive, inviting energy that lights up an entire room. She’s the type of person who can’t help but make a new friend wherever life takes her. She is selfless, talented, hilarious, and brings out the best in the people she cares for. Kylee works full time as a hairstylist and has an unmatched passion for her craft. She genuinely cares not just for the quality of her service, but the comfortability of her clients.

The effect:

In typical Kylee fashion, despite her injury, she is determined to get back to work as soon as possible and continue providing for her family and her clients. In order to fully recover, she’ll have to stop working and allow her wrist to heal for at least six to eight weeks. Due to the nature of her work since she can’t take clients, she doesn’t have an income which will be significant financial burden for her.

How this will help:

I’m hoping this reaches enough people that can help ease her mind so she can get the rest she needs to come back full force, rather than rushing back.
