We are starting this GoFundMe page in support of Kyle Williams and family (Shana, Anze, Evey & Waylon). Kyle was involved in a serious motorcycle accident with an uninsured motorist on June 24, 2019. Kyle was traveling north on US 127 in Hudson, MI, when a van disregarded a stop sign and pulled out of a side street right in front of Kyle. Kyle suffered multiple fractures and other injuries in the accident, including fractured t3 through t6 vertebrae, requiring emergency spinal surgery at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI to fuse his vertebrae back together. He now has two rods and six screws, among other hardware in his back. Other vertebrae have compression fractures which did not need surgery. Other injuries not requiring surgery include a fractured clavicle (collarbone), and sternum, as well as a lacerated liver and road rash. Doctors told him he will experience back pain for the rest of his life.
Kyle is a loving husband with three young children, ages 6 years, 3 years and six months old. He was actively involved in every aspect of their lives, including coaching six year old Anze in wrestling and baseball. Since his accident he has not been able to contribute to his family as a husband and father (he can’t even hold his six month old son). Shana has assumed the care-taking responsibilities of not only their three children, but now also of Kyle.
Kyle had been taking college classes but took the winter semester off to stay at home with his new baby and three year-old daughter. His plans to continue classes in the Fall will now have to be put on hold. Also, since he is now unable to care for his children, they will both need to be taken to daycare.
Kyle is a proud Marine Corps veteran who served two combat tours in Iraq as a CASEVAC (casualty evacuation) crew chief on ch-46 helicopters in support of all operations in the Al Anbar Province between the years 2008-2010. He received combat aircrew wings and seven air medals for heroic or meritorious achievement.
We set up this GoFundMe page as a communication platform to keep Kyle’s family and friends up-to-date on his status and progress. Any donations and continued prayers will be greatly appreciated.
