Kyle Summerhill once bought a homeless man a trailer house. He’s pulled over and given someone walking down the street the coat off his own back. If you compliment the hat he’s wearing, he’ll toss it your way. (He’s done that to me at least twice).
I searched his name on Facebook and found three posts from people thanking him for his generosity, which is roughly three more than most of us would find about ourselves. And I didn’t even look that hard.
The point is, Kyle is a real-life George Bailey. And now, just like in the pivotal scenes of It’s a Wonderful Life, George needs our help.
Kyle was badly injured in a car wreck. He’s going to be OK, but it will be a while before he works again. He’s self-employed, and his family’s only source of income. So now it’s our turn to help him, his wife, Dawn, and their kids. Please search your heart – as Kyle would – and if you’re so moved, here are three things you can do:
1) Pray for his healing and full recovery.
2) Share this GoFundMe link on all your social media accounts, with your Bible study group, the group chat for your kid’s soccer team – you get the idea.
3) Give! $5 or $5,000, it will help.
Kyle is one of my best friends and favorite people. I bet I’m not the only one who feels that way. I can’t wait to see how this thing blows up for the greatest giver I know.
Get well soon, Bubba! We love you!
