To all of my friends and family;
I wanted to let everyone know that I have just qualified to be a member of the 2016 Ohio Cadet National Team for wrestling. The team consists of the top Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers in the state, in my age category. Selection to the team was based on the results of the recent USA Wrestling State Championship on May 14-15 in Cincinnati, Ohio. I won the 145# weight division in both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman categories. I was also honored with the Lucas Marcelli Cadet Iron Man Award for the most points accumulated in all of the qualifying and state tournaments this Spring season. Because of my hard work and dedication to wrestling this year, I have been offered an opportunity that I do not want to pass up.
The Cadet National Wrestling Championships will be held at the University of North Dakota in Fargo, from July 15 to July 23, 2016 this year. I will be attending an intensive wrestling technique camp along with my teammates starting on July 10. In addition to this, I will be training on my own throughout May, June and July in preparation for the Nationals. These activities will consume a great deal of my time this summer and the opportunities to have a summer job will be limited. This is why I am asking for your help!
The cost for me to participate on the Cadet National Wrestling team is $1,175 for both styles. These amounts include the folowing: the training starting July 10th with the team at St. Edwards High School; chartered bus ride to and from the tournament in Fargo; housing and meals during the camp and tournament; tournament entry fee; two Ohio Cadet Team singlets and gear. Additionally, I will be investing in training privately in May and June, up until July 10th. Therefore, I am asking for a donation of $1,500.00 to cover these expenses. *Donations are Tax Deductible
Wrestling at Tuslaw this year as a 9th grader, I experienced many accomplishments and many of you were behind me all the way and I will always be thankful for that. Being involved in Greco and Freestyle this Spring has been a new experience for me and I am continuing to make acccomplishments that will allow me to be an even tougher competeter next season. Please consider helping my family and I out for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
