Kyle Kane’s road to recovery

My name is Rachelle Ardis, Kyle Kane’s sister. I never thought I’d be writing something like this about one of the strongest, loving and hardest working people I know. We’ve had a lot of people reach out to help and thought this might be a good way for Kyle and Chelsey to see the love and support that stands behind them.

On Sunday, February 18th, Kyle was involved in a very bad accident. He was pinned between a gate and his heavy work truck. He stood there pinned for 7 hours before a security officer found him. He was then medi-flighted to the hospital, suffering from hypothermia, renal failure and compartment syndrome in both legs because of being crushed for so long.

Anyone who knows Kyle knows his strength and love for life. He has an amazing wife with 4 beautiful boys 8 and under. He is a fighter and will get through this but he has a very long road to recovery ahead of him.

Our family is hurting right now and need the prayers for him more than anything.

2/21- It has been a very long last few days with him with very little improvement. They have him currently intubated, on dialysis to help his kidney function and had surgery on both his legs in the attempt to save them. It’s hard to assess the full extent of his injuries because of the severity of this accident but I’ll do my best to keep everyone up to date

2/23- It’s been such a whirl wind of emotions the last few days, so I’ll do my best to get up to date. Kyle is continuing to fight for his life. He went in for his second surgery on his legs yesterday to remove more dead muscle . He is still intubated and on dialysis. He had a CT scan that unfortunately now shows he has pneumonia - so yet another battle to fight. The Dr put him on oxygen to help his body heal. We know Kyle will fight! We know he is strong! He wants to see his boys and wife so badly again.
