Kyle Hoffman STRONG
Donation protected
Anyone who knows Kyle Hoffman understands that he is not only one of the hardest working individuals on earth, but a truly beautiful person, a genuinely kind soul, who puts his family and friends above all else. A dedicated husband, son, brother, and community member, Kyle is in a time of need.
On Thursday, May 28, Kyle began setting up for a typical music video shoot for his company, 12 Mile Visuals, in a parking lot in Detroit at around 6:30 PM. While setting up his camera equipment on the hood of his car, he noticed others in the area doing donuts in the parking lot. Before he had time to react, one of the drivers lost control of their vehicle at a high rate of speed, and pinned Kyle between his own car and the car that lost control.
As Kyle looked down to see the mangled lower half of his body in a condition he could have never imagined, people all around were screaming to call 911. With the degree of injury, there was no time to wait for an ambulance.
At a time in this country when people are divided and racial tensions are escalated, a complete stranger, a black man, helped Kyle into another car and dropped him off at the nearest emergency room. This selfless, kind, heroic act saved Kyle’s life. Detectives said that if they had waited much longer to take action, Kyle would not have survived. The Hoffman family and Kyle’s friends and loved ones cannot thank this man enough for his brave actions Thursday night.
However, Kyle’s fight is not close to over. He is so strong but it is only the beginning. He endured over 10 hours of surgery overnight Thursday into Friday morning. He continues to undergo numerous tests and procedures, and has been on and off a ventilator since Friday. It is a long, long, long road to recovery ahead. He may be in the hospital for many weeks or months, and may never fully recover. During the midst of COVID-19 it is also extremely difficult for even family visitation at all, and is challenging to communicate with the hospital on his condition. Additionally, after Kyle entered the hospital, it was discovered that his car had been totaled, and his phone and thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment and tools was either lost, stolen or destroyed in the aftermath of the accident.
We absolutely and completely understand that many are not in a position to donate, so any contribution of any size will mean the world and go a long way on the road to recovery for such an amazing human being that we all love and miss so dearly.
WE LOVE YOU KYLE KEEP FIGHTING!!
