Kyle Ericksen on ventilator in ICU - Help needed

Kyle is a 36 year old father of 3 young kids and a stepfather to a teenage daughter. His wife Ashley and his kids mean everything to him.

 

On Monday night we got the call that our nephew, Kyle, was being airlifted from Lethbridge to the ICU in Calgary. He was already on a ventilator. He had collapsed after a major seizure and minor seizures were continuing. He was also experiencing heart failure.

 

His condition began to stabilize yesterday, and they took him off of the ventilator late in the day, but he was put back on the ventilator this morning. His heart just isn’t working well enough and he’s not getting the oxygen he needs.

 

Kyle & Ashley are moving on Dec 15 - they gave their notice to their landlord weeks ago . To make matters even worse, their old car broke down two weeks ago. This has left them in a very tough situation, especially now with Kyle 215 kilometers away in the ICU in Calgary.

 

On top of everything else, Kyle’s 3 year old son, Hayden, is set to undergo testing for autism. He has special needs. Kyle is Hayden’s primary caregiver. This situation is overwhelming.

 

Kyle’s wife Ashley works full time. Ashley now needs to take time off work to try to deal with all of this and this has put them in a very bad spot regarding their family income. They’ve never had any money to spare and now with everything hitting them all at once, they need help. It’s truly a dire crisis for them!

 

We are doing everything that we can for them. Please help. They’ve never had to ask for help like this before so we are doing it for them. They truly need all the help they can get. And some prayers for Kyle wouldn’t hurt either. His recovery is uncertain.

 

We only have two nephews and Kyle is one of them. He means a lot to us. We want to help him and his family as they try to deal with this crisis. Kyle’s recovery is our top priority. We’re all worried. We need to make sure that his family is looked after while they are going through this incredible stress.

 

They need:

-a reliable replacement vehicle so they can have safe, dependable transportation for their family

-funds for gas and the trips to the hospital in Calgary for his family to be there for Kyle

-funds for extra, specialized childcare for Hayden

-funds to help with their move in December

-funds to cover their loss of family income - to make sure their utilities stay on, groceries, insurance - the cost of everything is going up and their income doesn’t cover it all with the added expenses of coping with Kyle’s sudden health crisis
