Kyle Brodeur’s Legacy: A Mission for Change
Donation protected
One of Kyle's wishes was to see an informative billboard placed along Route 20 to raise awareness about impaired driving, with the hope of sparing others from loss, pain, and suffering. This dream was born from his personal tragedy and his unwavering commitment to making a difference.
On November 1, 1997, Kyle’s life changed forever when he was struck by an impaired driver along Route 20 in Charlton, Massachusetts. He spent a year in a coma, endured 32 surgeries, and faced countless hospital stays and invasive procedures. Despite these challenges, Kyle approached life with an unbreakable spirit, a warm smile, and his signature thumbs-up gesture. Known as a Warrior and an Inspiration, Kyle touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His resilience and love for family and friends fueled his journey and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Determined to transform their family tragedy into a force for good, Kyle and his mother, Lisa, became passionate community advocates. They shared their story in local high schools, at the Boston State House, in prisons, and with drivers' education programs and community groups. Their efforts not only raised awareness about impaired driving but also inspired safety improvements and reconstruction along Route 20.
Kyle’s message of perseverance resonated deeply: "Giving up is not an option." As a talented artist and the author of the Amazon bestseller If I Can Smile, I Can Live, Kyle used his art and storytelling to inspire countless people to face life's challenges head-on. His book chronicles his journey and offers a powerful reminder that no matter what life throws at you, hope and determination can prevail.
Kyle leaves behind a profound legacy of determination, strength, courage, and love for living life to its fullest. His passion for advocacy and his dedication to spreading awareness continue to impact lives far beyond his own.
To honor Kyle’s legacy and fulfill his dream of raising awareness about impaired driving, we have established a donation fund. While in-person donations can be made at Savers Bank in Charlton, we want to extend the opportunity to everyone touched by Kyle’s story to contribute.
Your support will help continue Kyle’s mission, keeping his dream alive and ensuring that his message reaches others. Any donation, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will contribute to making a difference in our community.
Thank you for helping us keep Kyle’s spirit alive. Let’s make his dream a reality and ensure his legacy of love, resilience, and advocacy continues to impact lives for years to come.
