Kyle is a friend to everyone, and if he is your friend I can guarantee he is your funniest friend. Kyle is also the most giving and loyal of friends and even when he does not have much he is still willing to offer what he has and more. His humor is a gift few are given as well is his acceptance of everyone with a "come as you are" attitude. His talents lie in many things and there is rare a man who has worked harder than Kyle. When Family and friends are being considered there is not a man who loves bigger than Kyle...he IS an Ironman
While training for his Ironman in February of 2021 he noticed his speech felt slurred, something was not quite right. When asked no one else could hear the change but he did so he started seeking answers. In March 2021 a concern that it was possibly ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - Lou Gehrig’s disease) was brought up but was quickly dismissed by multiple medical doctors who specialize in the condition. To them it was not conceivable that he could have ALS and be performing as well as he was in his triathlon training and racing. Kyle's training as well as the tests continued in a desperate search for answers. His speech continued to decline, his upper body was twitching now, something was wrong and it was progressing.
We pushed for answers...
July 16th, 2021 it was confirmed, Kyle has ALS.
Please help us help Kyle and his family.
