Update:

I hate to ask again but we are really struggling. The phone and watches are about to be cut off on the 17th because we are short the money. It's been really stressful paying out of pocket for some things that are not covered under insurance, from depends to creams that stop bedsores. And everything just costs so much more. I only get 23.00 in food stamps and eggs were 6.50 a dozen. Between the cut in benefits and the costs of things, we are just overwhelmed. We need the phone and emergency watch not to get shut off. We need groceries. I know I am not the only one struggling, but resources here in a red state are limited. The phone is set to be turned of on the 17th. Please help if you can.

Update: Kyla spent an overnight in the hospital at her doctors insistence. And Dr was right. Kyla has suffered some kidney damage from falling and being on the floor for the 9 Plus hour period. It's called Rhabdomyolisis. The damage is not severe but we are not sure what this is going to mean in terms of her long term health. We are asking for a bit extra for tests that may not be covered and medications not covered. She has fairly good insurance, but it is medicaid and they get weird about covering stuff right when you need it the most. She has a Dr's appintment Monday Feb 24th. We also found out we need to get some addition stuff for the rail system for her bed. the company recommends plywood and some other stuff to make it more secure. Kyla has put on a bit of weight after a year of being underweight. that is good for her overall health, but tricky for the rail sysem. Again, Kyla is happy to answer any questions and concerns you might have. We will probably update this after she goes to the Dr Monday. Thank you

.Hello everyone. This is Sam, Kylas partner. We have a bit if an emergency regarding Kylas safety. I had back surgery a couple of months ago and things seemed to be going well. However, last Friday I was is significant pain, called the surgeon and went to the ER. They did an MRI and found that the two vertebra that had the screws put in had both fractured. So my back is broken. This explains partially what happened next. I was admitted to hospital and Kyla went home. I arranged for a friend to send her doordash as she is not able to cook for herself. Her balance has gotten progressively worse and she has to have both hands on her walker or she will fall. So, she goes to the door to get her food, turns back into the kitchen and goes down. She laid on the kitchen floor unable to get help for 9 and half hours. I was in the hospital becoming increasingly concerned because I was unable to contact her. I ended up calling the police and requesting a welfare check. We have ring doorbell so I could see them arrive and talk to them. I advised them to go around to the ramp door as it is generally unlocked. I heard them come around the corner and say that she was on the ground. My heart stopped. It was about 20 degrees outside and I thought they meant she was laying outside. They corrected and said she was inside on the kitchen floor. They called an ambulance and they checked her over but she wouldn't let them take her to hospital. This was Sunday. The thing is, she had an emergency button assigned to her for just this situation. However it's a piece of trash. Won't stay charged, the cord for it breaks all the time. She had gotten frustrated with it and therefore she didn't have it available when she needed it. I have had some safety concerns for a bit. The go fundme is for things that will keep her safe if I can't be here. We want to get her another emergency system using a smart watch that has a fall alert and will automatically call for help if she falls and cannot hit the button. Her legs and left arm are very weak due to neuropathy and a pinched ulner nerve in her left arm. She has trouble not falling out of bed. We found a rail system on Amazon that she can use to stay safe. We had planned to make these purchases ourselves but Kyla was just notified that Donald Trump doesn't think she needs her whole social security check. They cut her from two govt programs which comes out to a loss of nearly 300.00 a month. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, but we were. So we are asking for help to aquire the smart watch system and the bed rail system to keep her safe. We might also need a bit to keep the electric and gas on. She had signed up for the pipp plus program and it should be OK, but we heard on the news that the federal pipp program has been canceled in a couple of states and that Trump clawed back the money and the people that have pipp were forced to repay the benefit. It was a reliable news source, NPR and the case workers processing her stuff don't know for sure if the money for the program is gonna be there. I'm not trying to be political, this is just how the new administrations programs are affecting real people. So if you can give, please do. This should help her compensate for the lost income and give her a chance to adjust to the new budget going forward. Please msg her with any questions. Again we are sorry to ask, it's ugly for everyone. I feel like I have to wait on my medical stuff because I cannot stand the idea that she could fall again. I mean if she had been outside, she would have died from hypothermia. Please help. Thanks.
