Kylar was diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy through newborn screening 3 years ago. His diagnosis led to his older brother, Jalen, being identified to carry the same genetic disease. Both boys have been monitored through MRI's every six months to catch any brain involvement prior to experiencing symptoms. Last year Jalen's MRI came back abnormal and he was able to get into a gene therapy trial to stop the progression of the disease. He is still recovering.
Now Kylar's MRI has also shown abnormal lesions and he will need to go through stem cell transplant as the gene therapy trial is no longer recruiting.
These boys parents have been advocating for their health and putting them first since their diagnosis and have continued to work, even from a hospital room, to pay their bills.
As you can imagine they are being stretched, stressed and tested to the max so I am asking you to help with the one thing that we can help with, to raise money so they don't have to stress over finances while Kylar goes through this life saving treatment next month. No amount is too small, but let's aim high.
