Last year my son Kylar LaBoy was nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) of Advanced Medicine & Health Care in Baltimore, Maryland at Johns Hopkins University for 10 days. Unfortunately we were unable to afford Kylar this once in a lifetime opportunity. I called and asked if he could attend the class in June of next year and we were lucky enough that he was nominated again. His nomination to attend the forum is based upon his exemplary academic record and his interest in the fields of health and medicine. Attending this forum gives Kylar the opportunity to get hands on experience and valuable insight from top medical professionals. He would be able to participate in advanced simulations and get in-depth exposure to the medical field. Kylar is 17 years old and a Junior in High School, he holds a standing GPA of 3.5 while taking college courses every semester. This summer Kylar took a CNA class and is currently working on getting his license. He has to enroll by November 18th and immediately has to start paying the tuition. He is responsible for both the air fare and tuition that total around $5,500. His dream is to be a Thoracic Surgeon. This is an opportunity for my son to start planning his future and we would be so greatful for any help to help him start his dream.
