For most of my life, I have been struggling desperately with gender dysphoria. After coming out to my soon to be wife in 2018 and the rest of my friends and family in 2019 as a transgender woman, it has been an amazing but terrifying journey. I am truly honored and humbled by loving people in my life, and wouldn't have made it this far without their unwavering support.
After seeking medical help and attending weekly therapy sessions with a licensed psychologist who specializes in trans individual cases, I have taken the next step in my transition. As of August 2018 , my doctor and therapist have begun my hormone replacement therapy (HRT). With this treatment, the outside of my body will finally align with how I feel inside.
With the cost of frequent doctor visits and follow-ups, therapy sessions, prescriptions, future medical treatments and surgeries and legal changes, I fear I cannot survive these costs any longer. I am asking from the bottom of my heart for any small donation to help me in my transition.
I've listed a few costs that your donation would help fund towards my transition.
$75 Weekly therapy sessions not covered by my insurance.
$50 Frequent doctor's office visit copay with insurance.
$150 Prescription medications for HRT with insurance. This includes Estradiol Valerate injection and Spironolactone androgen blocker.
$200-285 Per session of multiple sessions for laser hair removal and electrolysis on my face. My thick facial hair has been a fierce trigger for my dysphoria for years.
$300 Change of legal documentation including name change, new birth certificate, social security and driver's license in the state of New Jersey.
Your donations will also help towards funding for voice training and possible future medical operations such as breast augmentation procedures. In addition, my wife Katie and I live on modest incomes and your donations will also help tremendously towards the cost of living. We hope to one day leave NJ in search of new opportunities with a lower cost of living and a higher quality of life. Any donation would also be helping us towards building our better future.
