Kyla Hudelson and family expenses #Kylastrong

On July 5, my dad (Dan Raak), brother (David Raak), and his beautiful girlfriend Kyla were on a fun weekend getaway when a vehicle crossed the center lane, hitting my dad's back end of the motorcycle and striking David and Kyla head-on. My brother, unfortunately, passed at the scene, and Kyla was ejected from the motorcycle.

Due to the rain, they were unable to life flight Kyla, but by an amazing miracle, she made it by ambulance. She was pregnant, and both of them were looking forward to being parents. This baby has helped Kyla make it this far, giving her more blood in her body.

Kyla was sent to Rochester, MN, where she is staying in the ICU. She is still in critical condition with a long road ahead. She has a traumatic brain injury, broken jaw, double fractured clavicle (one of which is displaced), rib fractures, and her liver, lungs, and spleen were injured. She has an open fracture on her pelvis which is now externally stabilized, as well as her legs. Both lower legs and her left femur are broken, and she has compartment syndrome which is being treated.

She was supposed to have more surgeries today, but she needs another day of rest. She is breathing on her own now but has a long fight ahead of her.

She is the strongest girl I know, and I know my brother is watching over her. Her family is up there with her now, but there will be many expenses and things to come. David would not want them to stress, and we would appreciate all the support we can provide to them.
