Kyiara’s Heart Journey

Our daughter Kyiara was born August 9th 2023. Shortly after giving birth she was brought to the NICU with Low oxygen. The doctors ordered an echocardiogram 2 days later because of the low oxygen and a murmur they had heard. The echocardiogram 4 days later had determined that she has a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic left Heart Syndrome(HLHS).

She was then flown to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital where we had to take a separate flight and meet her. She had her first heart surgery at 6 days old and will have her next surgery at 4-6 months old and her third surgery will happen when she is 5/6 years old. 

We had to up and leave our home 12 hours away with no way to be prepared for this. We have had to relocate to Toronto for the next six months until after her second surgery. We also have two older children, Kyana(8) and Kaisyn (2). My husband will be off work for a while to be here with us as this is an extremely hard time.

These funds would be used for medical supplies for Kyiara, clothes/items needed for her as everything we have is back at home. And along with our newly added bills and mortgage and other bills back home.

Kyiara is doing amazing now and is such a little fighter. We could not be anymore proud of her.
