Dennis’ Tribe
Donation protected
As many of you may have heard Dennis became ill and was admitted to the Belmond Iowa Specialty Hospitals on 6/27/22 where many tests were ran and unfortunately they were not seeing the response and improvement that they needed. On 6/29/22 the decision was made to transfer him to a larger level of care at Allen Hospital in Waterloo where Dennis underwent more testing and was then in the ICU where he was able to be sedated and intubated and closely monitored as his condition was not improving. Dennis was diagnosed with Lyme’s disease with complications of meningitis causing several neurological symptoms. Following MRI’s on 7/5/22 showing a new abscess in his neck along with the abscess in his lower back that they had been watching a neurosurgeon in Iowa City agreed that a transfer to the University of Iowa was appropriate and that he thought he would be able to go in and extract the abscesses which would in hopes start to heal Dennis. On 7/7/22 Dennis will be taken to surgery for a detailed and risky surgery to try to drain those areas of abscesses and to get a better idea of what type of bacteria they need to treat. So currently Dennis remains sedated and intubated in the ICU at the University of Iowa fighting a tough fight. He is a fighter and he will get through this he has a whole army to stand beside him.
Dennis is a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many people. For those that know Dennis they know that he would help any of his loved ones or friends if they ever needed anything.
We have set up this gofund me to help with the cost of travel for Laurie and lodging to be able to be close to Dennis during this time and for the acquiring costs as Dennis remains in the hospital fighting this illness. Laurie has not been able to work so that she can be beside Dennis and cheer him on through this tough journey. Any little bit will help show support to them and if you are not able to donate please continue to pray for Dennis and his family as they continue on this journey. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him but we have no doubt he will get there.
