My name is Claire, and I’m reaching out for help for the first time like this. It’s not easy for me to ask, but my boy Kygo means everything to me, and I need support to get him the answers he deserves.
Four years ago, Kygo survived a life-threatening case of bloat. He made it through, but sadly lost his spleen in the process. Since then, he began experiencing seizures at first only once a year, then twice a year. This year, however, things have escalated quickly and frighteningly, with two seizures in just three months.
Until recently, I had pet insurance in place, but last September I was forced to change policies due to rising costs becoming unaffordable. I moved to a new plan with the same company under different underwriters, believing I was still covered and doing the right thing for him.
In February 2026, I made my first claim after Kygo suffered a severe seizure. It was heartbreakingly rejected on the grounds that seizures were considered a symptom of his previous bloat condition. I was advised to appeal, but the chances of this being overturned now seem very slim.
Then, on Monday 1st June, Kygo experienced his most severe seizure yet. It was absolutely terrifying, and for the first time I managed to capture video for the vets because I was determined to get answers. The vet now believes this may be a separate, new condition possibly epilepsy or even a tumour.
To properly diagnose what is happening, Kygo urgently needs an MRI. Unfortunately, I am now unable to claim for this, and the cost is far beyond what I can manage alone.
I’m trying to do everything I can for him, but I can’t do this part on my own.
If you are able to donate or even share Kygo’s story, it would mean more than I can ever put into words. Every bit of support brings us closer to understanding what’s happening and giving him the treatment he needs.

The link above will take you over to the footage of Kygo’s recent seizure and you can see just how serious they are becoming.
All funds raised will go directly towards Kygo’s care, including the cost of his MRI scan, further diagnostic testing, and his stay at the Glasgow Vet School while specialists work to find the cause of his seizures and determine the best treatment plan. Our goal is simply to get Kygo the answers and care he deserves so that he has the best possible chance moving forward. Should there be any funds remaining after Kygo’s treatment and related veterinary costs have been covered, they will be donated to help another dog or family facing a similar situation. We know how difficult and overwhelming these circumstances can be, and we would love for any surplus funds to help support someone else in need.
Thank you for taking the time to read Kygos story! It’s greatly appreciated❤️
