Lenny got hit by a car (hit and run) Friday evening around 10:45pm. We took him straight to Long Beach Animal Hospital, where he was watched over for 3 nights. Lenny has experienced blunt trauma to his liver and bladder in addition to his multiple pelvic fractures on his back left side and his right hip being out of place (and it won’t stay intact). He has a blood clot in his bladder the size of a tennis ball and has been peeing blood since we brought him in on Friday, which is why they inserted a catheter. Given the severity of Lennys injuries, we had him transferred to VCA West Coast Hospital in Fountain Valley for surgery. He received surgery late yesterday 2/8 and seems to be doing okay, all things considering. We are waiting to hear more updates from the surgeon as to what the next steps are.
Lenny is our baby and our family and we are doing to do whatever it takes to get him the care he needs. We would appreciate anything - anything at all to help our Lenny get through this. Lennys hospital bills are exceeding $20k and any support would be so greatly appreciated and mean the world to both Alex and I. Lenny has a long recovery period ahead of him but we are just praying he makes it home to us.
