Simba's Emergency Surgery

Simba is our 3 year old golden retriever. About a week ago he started showing signs of a UTI so we brought him into the vet for testing and xrays. He was prescribed antibiotics and prescription dog food.
Yesterday Simba stopped eating his food and refused everything. Today he started acting really lethargic and he was struggling in and out of consciousness. We felt his stomach and felt a hard mass the size of a football. Immediately we brought him to the emergency vet.
Because of COVID, we couldn't go in with him. I immediately received a phone call that he needed x-rays and the bill was sitting at $460.
15 minutes later the doctor called me and said Simba's bladder was so full it was about to rupture due to a blockage from bladder stones. She said she needed to relieve his bladder with a needle and now the bill would sit at $900.
Then the doctor explained to me that Simba would need a surgery that will cost $5,000.
So far, the bills are sitting at over $5,900.
