Mi nombre es Deborah Moreno y nunca imaginé que algún día tendría que escribir estas palabras.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la historia de mi mejor amiga, Jessiree Querales.

Después de pasar varios años viviendo en el extranjero, Jessi siempre sintió que una parte de su corazón seguía en Venezuela. En 2026 decidió regresar a su país para reconstruir su vida, rodeada de su familia, sus amigos más cercanos y seres queridos.

Vivía en Los Corales, Edificio Coral Mar, estado La Guaira, una de las zonas más afectadas por el devastador terremoto que sacudió Venezuela el 24 de junio de 2026. Jessi se encontraba en su apartamento, en un séptimo piso, cuando el edificio colapsó y quedó atrapada bajo los escombros.

Después de pasar horas atrapada, fue su propia familia quien logró rescatarla.

Durante el derrumbe, una de las personas que más amaba perdió la vida intentando protegerla. Una pérdida que las palabras no pueden describir.

El terremoto también destruyó todo lo que tenía. En un solo día perdió su hogar, todo aquello que había logrado reconstruir con tanto esfuerzo y a una de las personas más importantes de su vida.

Las muchas horas que permaneció bajo los escombros le provocaron lesiones devastadoras. Debido a graves complicaciones médicas, Jessi perdió un brazo y una pierna. Ha sido sometida a múltiples cirugías, necesitó y necesita diálisis, y ahora enfrenta un largo y difícil proceso de recuperación.

Jessi necesitará atención médica continua, rehabilitación, fisioterapia, apoyo psicológico, prótesis, medicamentos y muchos otros tratamientos esenciales. Después de perderlo todo, también debe reconstruir su vida desde cero.

Estoy organizando esta campaña junto con la prima de Jessi, Leydis Fuentes, para apoyar su recuperación. Las donaciones serán recibidas por la pareja de Leydis, Javier Jiménez, en representación de Jessi y serán transferidas directamente an ella y a su familia. Jessi y su familia están atravesando el momento más difícil de sus vidas, y sabemos que su recuperación será larga y desafiante.

Ojalá pudiera hacer más por mi cuenta, pero no puedo. Hoy les pido su ayuda.

Nuestro objetivo es darle a Jessi la oportunidad de recuperarse, reconstruir su vida y concentrarse en sanar, sin tener que preocuparse por cómo cubrir los gastos de la atención que necesita.

Cada donación, sin importar el monto, ayudará a cubrir gastos médicos, rehabilitación, prótesis, medicamentos, atención psicológica, transporte y las necesidades básicas que necesitará para comenzar de nuevo.

Be Jessi’s Hope After the Earthquake in Venezuela

My name is Deborah Moreno, and I never imagined I would have to write these words.

Today, I want to share the story of my best friend of 15 years, Jessiree Querales.

After spending several years abroad, Jessi always felt that a part of her heart remained in Venezuela. Earlier this year, she decided to return home to rebuild her life, surrounded by her family, her closest friends, and the people she loved most.

She was living in Los Corales, in the state of La Guaira, one of the areas hardest hit by the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026. Jessi was inside her seventh-floor apartment when the building collapsed, trapping her beneath the rubble.

After hours trapped under the debris, her family finally rescued her.

During the collapse, someone she loved deeply lost their life while trying to protect her. They had been living together, and it is a loss that words cannot truly describe.

The earthquake also took everything from her. In a single day, she lost her home, everything she had worked so hard to rebuild, and one of the most important people in her life.

The many hours she remained trapped beneath the rubble caused devastating injuries. Despite every effort to save her limbs, severe medical complications made it necessary to amputate one arm and one leg. She has undergone multiple surgeries, continues to require dialysis, and now faces a long and difficult recovery.

She now needs ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, physical therapy, psychological support, prosthetic limbs, medications, transportation to medical appointments, and many other essential treatments. After losing everything, she also has to rebuild her life from the beginning.

Jessi and I met in Venezuela in 2012. Even though we later moved to different countries, distance never changed our friendship. We’ve remained best friends through every stage of our lives.

Watching everything she has gone through from thousands of miles away has been heartbreaking. I wish I could do more for her on my own, but I can’t.

That’s why I’m organizing this fundraiser together with Jessi’s cousin, Leydis Fuentes, to support her recovery. The donations will be received by Leydis’s partner, Javier Jiménez, on Jessi’s behalf and transferred directly to Jessi and her family as quickly as possible.

Our goal is to give Jessi the chance to focus on healing instead of worrying about how she’ll afford the care she needs or how she’ll rebuild her life after losing everything.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help cover medical expenses, rehabilitation, physical therapy, prosthetic limbs, medications, psychological care, transportation, and the basic necessities she needs to begin again.
