Prayers for Patty:
Patricia Bowman is an amazing mother and grandmother. She is a kind person with a huge heart, and is always willing to help others. Patty is a loving and caring person who is battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Patricia was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in early 2016. She underwent a lumpectomy and radiation treatments. She was then told by doctor's there was no evidence of the disease. Just ten short months later she was diagnosed with Stage 4- Metastatic breast cancer. It had metastasized to her bones and liver. This caused several fractures in her spine and required a procedure (Kyphoplasty) to repair the fractures. Patricia then started radiation and oral chemotherapy. This combination was successful at keeping the cancer stable for two years.

February of 2020, the oral chemotherapy was no longer effective and her treatment plan was changed. After complications with several new oral medications she underwent another surgical procedure. This was to have a port implanted to begin IV chemotherapy as a last possible form of treatment. The IV chemo caused low white blood cell counts which led to several infections and multiple lengthy hospital stays. At that time she was also diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome), a rare bone marrow disorder that progresses into leukemia. Due to complications with the IV chemotherapy and the MDS diagnosis, her oncologist recommended to stop all forms of treatment. The risk of infection was too great to continue any further cancer treatment. Patricia now has to make daily trips to her oncologist for an injection to increase her white blood cell count. This is a neccesity to lower the risk of infection. She must also make weekly visits for injections to increase her red blood cells to help with the MDS. Along with this, she may have to receive blood transfusions. 

Due to the increased risk of infection, Patricia is unable to spend time with her family as she normally would. She is on oxygen around the clock and has limited mobility. Patricia's husband and daughter are providing the constant care she needs. Because of the daily appointments and care that is needed, her husband is unable to maintain his normal work schedule. We have created this campaign to ask for help in supporting Patricia and to raise funds to offset uncovered medical expenses. The funds received will help with current and future expenses.  Fighting this cancer is a huge task in itself that brings physical, emotional and financial stresses. Please donate if possible.
