As many of you know, Kayo recently experienced a serious incident resulting in severe brain damage. He has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility where my sister Jackie has been steadfastly by his side. The move to rehab is not only for Kayo’s recovery but also to prepare Jackie to care for him at home when he is released in 4-6 weeks.
Jackie has been practically living at the hospital to support Kayo, leaving little time to tend to her own needs, as well as those of Emily and Jordan. Jackie has not been able to work and has recently moved to Alberta. Please help support them as they navigate through these significant changes.
*****Update from Jackie*******
Hi Everyone,
It has been a really tough 56 days for my family and I. We appreciate everyone's help with this complicated situation. Our journey through this trial is far from over but we are making progress and working through it one day at a time.
We have been at the rehab facility for over 2 weeks now and it seems Kayo is coming out of the phase of constantly yelling out in pain and irritability. Doctors say this is normal and said it could last 4-6 weeks I didn't believe it but it is tapering off after 27 days.
Jordan will be headed out of town for work July 23rd - August 6th and we have sorted out who will take care of Dixon, our puppy during this time. Emily will be spending most of her time with me at the hospital by choice as she is struggling being away from me.
My sister Christy has set up two ways for you to help. Please see the Go Fund Me and Meal Train links below:
Please feel free to share the links. Any amount of help is needed and appreciated.
Thank you,
Jackie, Jordan & Family
